The competition app is a mobile leaderboarding and competing app inspired by self tracking and gaming. It makes it possible to easily (and socially) track wins and losses in individual, friendly, and league-structured competitions. Below is some of the work from the ideation process, including our original use hypothesis, and brainstorming, with corresponding wireframes and flows. The current version is more refined.
Here is an early web version used to see if incorporating so many styles of games is easier on a bigger surface. These are sketches for a very minimal horizontally scrolling site version. The goal is to keep it game-like, very minimal, and open ended enough to be entertaining.
I designed the bright buttons as a way of turning the experience of scorekeeping and competition into a game by referencing familiar game controller symbols. These are static elements on the page.
